Other Achievements
On the 4th of November, 2012 I got crowned as Miss Aruba 2012-2013. After being crowned as Miss Aruba I was given the opportunity to represent Aruba in the International Coffee Pageant in Manizales, Colombia. On january 12th of 2013, I won the title as the 2nd princess of the International Coffee Pageant. The 5 finalists where Venezuela, Colombia, Aruba, Honduras and Dominican Republic.

 

Goals
As Miss Aruba 2012-2013 I will have the honor to represent my country during the Miss World 2013 pageant in Indonesia. In August of 2012 I attended some seminars of "The Women’s Club of Aruba" on domestic violence. The reason for my attendance at these seminars is that I have loved ones who have been through abusive situations at home, and I wanted to get a better understanding of what they’ve been through. This inspired me to start my own campaign.

 

In November of 2012 I started working on a project called “Breaking the silence; Aruba against domestic violence”. The aim of this project is to raise awareness on domestic violence and help victims of abuse through shelter and guidance. To reach this goal, I contacted various Aruban organizations focused on reducing domestic violence and helping less privileged families, to work together at this project.

 

My future goal is to graduate from law school and further educate myself as a lawyer to help less fortunate families. My dream is to have a shelter for battered women and children.

 

Personal interests
I love traveling, meeting new people, learning about different cultures, and teaching others about my own culture. I enjoy going to the beach, running on the beach and swimming laps early in the morning, and all kinds of watersports. I love making people smile.

 

My desire to care for the less fortunate started from when I was a young girl. The joy of knowing that with my projects I can help less fortunate children and victims of abuse have a better future is incomparable and priceless!
